FAQ’s

What should I wear? Comfortable clothing, such as yoga pants or long shorts, and round neck t-shirts will work fine and prevent “wardrobe malfunctions.”  We will practice barefoot since shoes can cause injury or damage to the padded suit, and socks can be slippery.  You may also want to leave necklaces, bracelets, or hanging earrings at home to prevent them from being accidentally damaged or left at the facility.

What do I need to bring with me? Your signed liability waiver, which will be emailed to you prior to the class.  You may bring a water bottle if you like, or we will have complimentary bottled water available.

What age group is this for?  No one is exempt from a sexual assault, regardless of age, race, socio-economic level, or size.   I have trained women and girls from age 8 to 70+.   However, the classes are geared for teens and adults.  Girls as young as 12 have participated in the regular class, but it mostly depends on the maturity of the girl. Parental permission is required for those under the age of 18.  I  recommend that mothers and daughters take the class together!

I have also modified the class, removing the rape prevention aspects at the sponsors request, to suit a group of 8-16 year olds. Please let me know your needs.

Can I have a private class?  Yes, if you have a group of friends, or an organization that wants to hold a class, we can schedule a date just for you.  A minimum of ten participants ($65 per person or $650) is required.

How long do classes last? Classes are approximately 4 hours long and may vary by class size, questions, additional practice time, etc.
